LIVES LIVED OUTSIDE THE LINES
Sergel Torg Outdoor Gallery, Stockholm
July 3 – August 7, 2025
Press Preview: July 3, 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
What can a blazer reveal about a life? What can a faded photograph tell us about a city we thought we knew?
Unstraight Memories – Lives Lived Outside the Lines is a new exhibition from The Unstraight Museum. Drawing from our growing archive, it aims to reach a wider audience – and to invite more people to contribute.
This exhibition gives space to stories that have often been pushed aside: everyday, bodily, collective, and resistant memories of queer lives that together sketch out an alternative map of our shared history. Through stories from Stockholm’s narrowest alleys to its grandest boulevards, we uncover a cityscape many have never truly seen.
The exhibition is divided into three rooms:
- The Living Room – stories of queer everyday life and community organizing
- The Dance Floor – exploring body, identity, and movement
- In-Between Spaces – experiences from the borderlands
This is the first time Unstraight Memories is being shown – and we hope it won’t be the last. Want to help make the next version possible? Get in touch and be part of growing this living archive.
