Stockholm Pride

LBGTQ people’s story is seldom told by established museums and institutions. During the Stockholm Pride, July 31 to August 3, The Unstraight Museum will establish an interactive exhibition at Kulturhuset in Stockholm, which will then be renamed ”Pride House”. We will let festival goers temporarily donate items (the items will be returned at the end of the exhibition period, which will then only exist as a virtual exhibition) associated with HTBTQ history and ask them to tell their stories which we immediately create an exhibition around. We document the stories and items with photographs and video, and on the basis of that material we will let the exhibition grow organically in Kulturhusets ”Studio”-space. We will gradually build a complete scenography with videos, lighting, and display cases, and arrange guided tours which will tell of the donations and their stories. Together, we will create a fun and thought provoking show!
